In Memory of Colette Yen

By Peter, Adrienne & Taryn

This fundraiser for the BC Cancer Foundation was created in memory of Colette Yen.

In loving memory of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Colette, who passed away on October 13, 2026, at the age of 77, following a courageous fight against cancer.

Colette was a lover of good food, cooking, travel, paddling, socializing, and the great outdoors. Those who knew her feel blessed to have shared so many stories, adventures, and moments of laughter with her. She was always there to offer support, encouragement, and a helping hand to lift others up through life’s toughest times.

A favourite quote of Colette’s:

“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, ‘Wow! What a Ride!’”

Please consider making a donation in Colette’s memory to honour a life lived with zest and love.

Sending hugs and prayers to Peter and family at this difficult time. We met Collette only four years ago as our neighbor in Hawaii, but found out we have family ties that span over 50 years. Collette and I were both born in Fiji and we have many common friends and family during our conversations. She treated us as family as she does with everyone, and we will miss her dearly.

Peter, My your wonderful memories Collette help you now. She was an amazing woman and a good wife. 🙏 She made a dinner for me right after Paul died and was so comforting to me. ~Liz Nakayama

Our prayers and hugs. We loved Colette, as many people did - her favorite quote is absolutely her!!! We are so fortunate to have met Peter and Colette on our walks in Hawaii and then discovered they lived near my parents in Canada. We will miss her smile, her dinners, her natural way of making everyone welcomed and loved.
