17th Annual Beat the Crap Out of Cancer

Beat the Crap out of Cancer is an annual stick-fighting martial arts and western martial arts event running in multiple cities on the same day in support of cancer research.

The premise is simple: we unite together as martial artists flying no colors or flags for a day of fun and friendly sparring to raise money for an excellent cause. Along the way we also raise some bruises, welts, and the spirit of community in the martial arts. Each event brings us together more and more as a family.

How To Get Started

  1. Register to fight. You cannot fight unless you register ahead of time
  2. Register here on the BC Cancer Foundation donation page to start fundraising. This is the whole reason to do this.
    1. Click the Register button at the top of this page
    2. Follow instructions to create your individual or team page
    3. Share your link and start fundraising!
  3. Show up to Academie Duello at 10AM on November 8th to fight.
Pick your dance partner. Don't be a wallflower. Walk up to someone, introduce yourself, and tell them you want to hit them with a stick. You'll become great friends afterwards

Pick your fight level. You decide how hard you want to fight. You can do anything from a light, technical spar, to a full contact, Dog Brothers level fight. Just make sure that you and your partner agree on the level before you start swinging.

There are no weight or gender classes. We're an equal opportunity fight club. Fight who you want. All are welcome.

And most importantly, have fun, and be friends at the end of the day!
